Choosing What YOU Want
I decided to get back to what I enjoy doing, which is writing. I know in this day and age, people love the silly little 30 second video that compares what life was like 10 years ago vs what it's like now. Or the cute puppy dog videos that show "how life be lifting" as the dog lays all decked out relaxing on a couch.
Despite this, I decided it's important to stay true to who you really are so I have decided to go back to writing my thoughts, which is where I excel. Somewhere along the way, I stepped away from it because the world started rewarding fast content instead of real reflection. So I am choosing to return to what feels natural for me.
As you move forward in your career and your life, I hope you give yourself permission to do the same. Choose what you want. Choose what fits you. Do not change yourself because everyone else is doing something different. Do not follow a trend that does not benefit you. Pick the things that help you grow and make you better.
I have realized my audience is made up of people who slow down. People who read. People who want to learn something and are willing to take a moment to think. That is who I write for. That is where I do my best work. And that is where I plan to stay.
To close this out, here is the reminder I keep coming back to when everything feels loud or distracting:
Switch on what matters.
Switch off everything else.
